CHALK MURALS AND “3D” STREET PAINTINGS
While we’ve created a couple hundred chalk pieces to date, below are some of our favorites! “3D” pavement art continues to attract audiences and attention, as an exciting blend of analog and digital interaction ideal for social media activations and special events. By creating illustrations in
one-point perspective, illusions seem to pop out of the pavement when viewed through a camera from a specific point on the ground.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
We take the phrase “finding common ground” literally. Chalk is a brilliant tool for expression, communication and creative experimentation! When we create in community, we build and foster relationships that can have positive ripple effects on society. Through a variety of formats and education techniques, Chalk Riot has worked with young adult and adult groups in schools, with cause-based non-profits, many arts institutions, faith-based collectives, and within the international peace-building sector. Some of our favorite moments are below! Our favorite format is what we call a “chalk-in”, where we simply provide a big outline of phrases or images, and the masses fill it in with sidewalk chalk :)
